The Microchip

Jack Kilby invented the Microchip in 1985. Jack was an electrical engineer who invented the integrated circuit also known as the Microchip.  The Microchip is defined as a set of connected electronic components for example, transistors and resistors, that are engraved onto a tiny chip of a semiconducting material, examples of this are silicon or germanium. What made the Microchip so popular was its ability to shrink the size and cost of making electronics and also impacted the future of not only computers but all electronics.
